Yuck. Maren had her first blowout today. Upon discovering the mess, almost the entire back side of her onesie was covered. I contemplated just cutting the thing off of her. I should have. By the time it was off of her body, there was poo everywhere except her head. Got the mess cleaned up just in time for a second blowout.

Two weeks into being a mom, I wish ... dads could be home on leave as long as moms ... Starbucks delivered ... my boobs could be attached to a robot ... I had Go-Go-Gadget arms ... there was a Target downtown ... our neighborhood still had a coffee shop ... our house had a dumbwaiter and a laundry chute ... I could make time stand still, as I can't believe it has already been two weeks.

Eye goobies. Lots of eye goobies. According to the doctor, Maren has a blocked tear duct. Never would have thought it possible to read so much about something so simple, but it's possible. Remedy is massaging the corner of her eye. Matt found a site that suggested putting breast milk in her eye ... uh ... that feels kind of wrong ...

We survived. Her room looks like a bit of a combat zone from the process of trial and error that occurred, but the three of us made it through the first night at home. Our report ...
The sleep sack currently has a "suck" status. She's too little. The swaddling gown currently has a "best thing ever" status, as discovered with the switch to it from the sleep sack at 3:00 a.m. A pacifier keeps the middle-of-the-night-diaper-changing-screaming to a minimum. A completely dark room is not preferred. Archie enjoys listening to bedtime stories, too.
Yes ... we know ... none of this will apply tonight.
